Auto Rifle

A standard auto rifle, the same model used by Duke Nukem during the EDF Murder Conspiracy. Utilizes 50-round magazines.

ALT-FIRE: Fire grenade

Overview

This gun is Zaxtor's standard automatic assault rifle. It's fairly accurate, takes minimal penalties from sustained fire, and comes with a 50-round magazine. Its bullets can penetrate body armour, but are ineffective against chitin enemies. As a result, it's well suited for multiple weaker hostiles at any range, or long-range sniping operations.

Despite being a rather bulky weapon, Zaxtor can comfortably wield two as once, akimbo style. This reduces accuracy and increases reload times, but practically doubles its damage potential.

Upgrades

Auto Rifle Upgraded in 3.5 redux

There are 3 upgrades for the Auto Rifle:

Grenade Launcher

Adds an underslung launcher that can fire 40mm cased grenades. Costs 300 polymers.

Power mod

Improves the Rifle's damage, making it do 15 - 24 damage per shot. Costs 200 polymers.

Accuracy mod

Increases the Rifle's accuracy, making it a highly effective long range weapon. Costs 150 polymers.

Trivia

In AMC Squad version 4, the rifle's underslung launcher fires 40mm grenades. In older versions of the game, however, it used Zaxtor's Sticky Pipebombs as ammunition. In version 4.1.0 the weapon's UI still shows the number of pipebombs in your inventory.
