From the Imagination World 2 manual: A strange race of genetically evolved aliens. Although they have a very tough skin, they have trouble breathing Earth's atmosphere, and are forced to wear a respirator which helps them convert the Oxygen to something they can breathe. Autopsies have shown that most of the Pitfiend consists of flesh and its tough skin; this suggests that they have somehow been genetically modifed. They possese a natural ability to levitate - however what is not natural is the rocket launcher implanted into their chests. The large eye is protected by a tough resin, seeing as how a Pitfiend has no other visible means to protect it.
